Our Story
Built on Decades of Expertise
NR Engineering & Construction (PVT) Ltd was founded in 1999 by Mr. Rohana Rupasingha, whose career began with vocational training from 1988 to 1990, followed by work as an X-ray welder from 1990. He then gained invaluable experience working abroad from 1992 to 1998, bringing international expertise back to Sri Lanka.
From those early foundations, Mr. Rupasingha returned to Sri Lanka with a clear vision: to bring world-class steel and civil engineering standards to the local industry. What started as a single-person operation has grown into a trusted construction firm that has delivered over 150 projects spanning every corner of the island.
Today, NR Engineering is synonymous with durable, high-quality pre-fabricated steel structures — from expansive industrial warehouses and heavy-duty factory complexes to housing construction such as steel buildings, solar mounting systems, and civil infrastructure. Every project carries the same commitment that has defined the company since day one: quality without compromise.

Mr. Rohana Rupasingha
Founder & Director
With over 35 years in the steel and civil engineering industry, Mr. Rohana Rupasingha is the driving force behind NR Engineering's reputation for excellence. His career began with vocational training in 1988 and was shaped by working abroad from 1992 to 1998 before founding NR Engineering in 1999.
Mr. Nadun Sachinthaka Rupasingha
Director
Finished school and joined the business in 2021, bringing fresh energy and modern business acumen to NR Engineering's operations and growth. Currently pursuing a degree while actively contributing to the company's continued expansion.
